Africa has emerged as a continent with pressing and real business opportunities

Africa has emerged as a continent with pressing and real business opportunities. This is in large part due to the efforts of African countries, which have covered serious ground in creating a new image of change and embracing the future. The greater political and economic stability seen there also initiates a new narrative. The African Continental Free Trade Agreement is a case in point.

India and Africa are well poised to partner with each other in co-creating entrepreneurial activities, providing bilateral knowledge, funding, and market opportunity to its early-stage enterprises, thereby strengthening existing efforts to increase trade and development between the two economies.

To bridge the gap between the Indian and African entrepreneurs the India-Africa Entrepreneurship Forum (IAEF) is organizing the second edition of its two-day India - Africa Entrepreneurship & Investment Summit to be held on 1 – 2 July 2022 at Sarova Panafric Hotel, Nairobi.

The summit is being organized with the objective to provide an opportunity for entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial businesses to meet, dialogue, network, forge valuable partnerships and explore areas of mutual interest.

The first edition of the IAEF took place in Mauritius in September 2019, with participants from 23 countries in Africa, featuring pre-eminent investors in India and Africa as well as incubators, entrepreneurs, and political and economic leaders.

Apex Group has come forward as one of our esteemed sponsors for the summit. Santosh Gujadhur, Managing Director, Mauritius at Apex Group will be gracing the summit as a speaker. He comments: “Apex Group is delighted to be sponsoring the second Africa Entrepreneurship & Investment Summit, an important forum for the exchange of knowledge and entrepreneurial ideas. We operate a strong and growing presence in Mauritius which is the largest launchpad for funds wishing to invest in India & continues  to grow its focus on Africa, with a dynamic and established financial services ecosystem to help facilitate funds with ambitions on the continent.”

The opportunity in the financial services sector is tremendous. India has the potential to build one of the world’s biggest domestic banking sectors. Faster private-sector credit growth would add directly to GDP, jobs, and median income.

The summit plays a pivotal role by bringing entrepreneurs and investors from both India and Africa on a common platform to explore areas of mutual interest.

During the summit, African and Indian ventures will be called upon to discuss cross-border opportunities related to sectors such as Cross border FinTech; AgriTech and Agri Export; EdTech and Remote Teaching; HealthTech – Telehealth; International E-Commerce, etc.
